Description

52 pages, published in 2018. Rodrick B. MacLennan and June Julian were awarded the prestigious Explorers Club Flag #109 again for the second season of their Isle of Vallay Archaeology/Climate Change Expedition in the Outer Hebrides. Since 1918, the flag has been carried on hundreds of expeditions, to outer space, to both Poles, to the deepest oceans, and to the highest peaks in the world. They extended their research to include additional original Beveridge archaeology sites on the Western shore of the Isle North Uist, located directly across the Vallay Strand. The multiple disciplines of Archaeology, Art and Climate Change were integrated into the project that engaged a community of participants within Archaeological field survey and Aesthetics frameworks. Note: There is also an earlier book, Isle of Vallay Archaeology/Climate Change Expedition: Explorers Club Flag #109 that was published in 2016, that together gives a complete picture of the effects of climate change on the endangered archaeology sites.
