Description
This large-format, museum-quality art book features ecoartspace member Jill Lear’s paintings and black and white photographs of Texas’ most beautiful and historic trees. A short narrative tells the history or folklore each tree. The book subtly references her 1,500 mile journey to paint, photograph, and broadly document how each tree has witnessed Texas history. Most of these trees have witnessed a significant event or colorful aspect of Texas’ history, from lynch mob hangings to peace treaties, wars, and weddings.
